You can assign different roles with privileges to all the users in user group. 

To manage Group roles, navigate to the Group roles page. 

On the Diyotta Manager repository, click Admin, and then select Group Roles

The Assign Roles page displays the environment and role privileges that can be assigned to existing Group users. The roles are assigned to a group users at environment level. 

Assigning roles to Group Users

Step I: Select the Environment from the dropdown

Step II: It will list all the group users and associated roles. Following details are displayed.

  • All the users added in the Diyotta Manager.
  • The roles that can be assigned to the users in the group.

Below are the predefined privileges for these roles

  • Add and manage node managers
  • Deploy, register and manage services

Service Administrator
  • Deploy, register and manage services
  • Start, stop and restart services

Step III: Select the role to be assigned to list of group users in an environment, and click Save. For reference, here we have assigned Host administrator for Admin_Mexico, Service Administrator for Admin_Toronto. When a role is assigned to a group user, then the selected users get admin privileges.

Note:

  • Each group user can be assigned only one role based on the role privileges required for each environment. Once you assign a role to a group user, the other role check boxes get disabled.
  • If you want to reset the changes done before saving, click Reset.

Step IV: Once saved, the Message window shows the success message. Click Ok.

Assigning Admin roles to Group Users

Users with admin roles have all the privileges in all the environments. Group User with admin role is provided to all the environments in common. 

Step I: Go to the Assign Admin Roles tab. It will list all the group users and admin role. Following details are displayed.

  • All the users added in the Diyotta Manager.
  • The admin roles that can be assigned to the users which has admin access with all the privileges as Create environments, Manage Administrative activities, Add and manage node managers, Deploy, register and manage services and also Start, stop and restart service.

Step II: Select the admin role to be assigned to the user and click Save. When a role is assigned to a user, then the selected users get admin privileges.

Step III: Once saved, the Message window shows the success message. Click Ok.
